Magical views
From Kompatsch on the western edge of the Alpe di Siusi (1870 m; up here by cable car or road from Siusi or Castelrotto), take the chairlift up to the Hotel Panorama on the so-called Joch (on foot via path 7). Then always on path 2 slightly descending and level across the Alpe di Siusi, later on the slopes of the Grunser Bühel and the Goldknopf gradually ascending (always on path 2) to the foot of the Rosszähne ridge. Now in serpentines over scree steeply up to the Rosszahnscharte and on the other side on path 2 over to the Tierser-Alpl-Hütte (2438 m).
Descent: From the hut on the wide path marked 4 through a steep mountain valley down to the Dialer or Alpe di Siusi House. Then left on footpath 7 through grassy terrain – and crossing small ditches – to the Mahlknechthütte. From here on the wide road (always marking 7) first a bit uphill and then through the meadows of the Alpe di Siusi back to the starting point.
