Corno di Tres | W114
The tour to
lonely heights
The Corno di Tres above the wine village of Kurtatsch is a real insider tip. The wine village of Kurtatsch in the South Tyrolean Unterland (area South of Bozen) nestles on the western slopes of the Etsch Valley, above which rises an inconspicuous but rewarding panoramic mountain.
The tour starts on the Fennberg, about 3 km behind Fennhals. There you will find the signpost to Corno di Tres on the right side. Follow the wide path no. 3 to the saddle. Here you turn right onto the Rätersteig (always marked n. 3), which leads through the wooded slopes to the Fenner Joch (1563 m). From here – following the marking “Barbara” – you reach the summit on a somewhat steeper trail. For the way back, the saddle path marked with No. 7 leads very steeply down to the Fennberger Straße. Follow this road on foot to the starting point, 2.5 km away.
