The start of this tour is the Mendel Pass from where you hike up to the Penegal on marker 500. From the Penegal continue on marker 500 down to the Furglauer Scharte. From here uphill across the Prince meadows to the Prince Hut and up to the Große Scharte. Always on the same marking you reach the summit of the Gantkofel. You will enjoy a magnificent view of the Bolzano basin and the Dolomites. Descent via the ascent path.
