What a view
The hike starts at the Mendel Pass. You can get here either by car, the Mendel cable car or on foot via the Mendelsteig. From the Pass you follow the trail no. 500 in the direction of the Enzianhütte. On the way you will see many different huts. In the summer months many Traminer and Kalterer come up here driven by the heat to their summer residences.
Only 5 minutes away from the Enzianhütte is the Mendel Church, if you want to pay it a visit. In the Enziahnütte you can expect a delicious, traditional cuisine. Our tip: dumplings with goulash.
After food and drink, head towards Golfwiesen. From there you walk in the direction of the Halbweghütte. By the way, also a great stop with delicious delicacies!
Your next stop is the Avalanche Peak at 1,650m. Dropping terrain edges and a tremendous low view await you! The view from the bird’s eye view reaches from Penegal, over the two Montiggler lakes, Kaltern, the Dolomites and to Tramin.
